For this post, I want to share with you how to connect your Thrive Leads Group form to your email marketing service provider.
Now, provided you already have your API set up for your service provider, no matter what provider you're using - maybe ConvertKit or ActiveCampaign, the steps will be the same. I happen to be using ConvertKit, so that's what I'm going to show you how to do today. But, it's the same process for whatever email marketing service provider you're using.

How Do you connect your Email Marketing Service Provider to your Thrive Leads group?
1. Go to the Thrive Leads Dashboard
When I click on the Leads dashboard, it'll look like this:
2. Choose the Thrive Leads Group that you want to work on.
I've already got several lead groups. The one I'm going to work on is the WordPress Launchpad for Blog Content, so I’m going to click on that to expand it.
The great thing about using the Lead Groups is that, if you have a lot of pre-existing content, you can dynamically set forms to show up automatically based on specific rules you've set up.
Here’s the trick to doing that…
For instance, I want this form to show up on posts on the "Branding" and "WordPress and Website Building" categories. I can click on Display Settings and go to Categories. I can then select which categories I want this particular form to show up in. Now, for every past and future post that’s tagged under these categories, the form is going to show up once it’s set up.
Even if I have a hundred posts between these two categories, I can set this form to show up instantaneously. I wouldn’t have to go to a hundred separate posts to edit them individually to add the forms. That's a huge time saver when you're trying to put together your offers and make them really targeted.
3. Click Edit on the type of form that you would like to connect to your email service provider
In my case, I have a Lightbox form. When I click on Edit, it’ll bring me to a list of Lightbox forms that I have on this group. I only have one type of form and have set up how I want it to pop up in my blog posts.
You can set up the Trigger, Display Frequency, and the Animation for your form. For mine, I have set it up to appear when the readers have scrolled to 25% of the content, displays every 1 day, and slides in from the top.
4. Click on Edit Design and then on the Lead Generation Element of the form you want to set up
Once you click on Edit Design, you’re going to be taken to the design page of the form. You need to click on the Lead Generation element of the form. Then, you’ll see an option on the menu panel to “Connect Form to Service.” Click on that.
5. Choose the settings you want
Next, you will need to choose your API connection. I already have the API set up for ConvertKit, so I'm going to click on it.
Next, you would need to choose your mailing list. In my case, I already have the WordPress Launchpad mailing list, and so, I'm just going to click on that and hit continue. I only have one list right now, but when you select this, it'll show all the lists you have and just choose the one that you want.
You now need to set the Form Fields. I just like to leave it at the default setting with the Email required and then the Name. Then, just go ahead and hit next.
Lastly, you just need to select a Post Opt-In Action. You can Reload Page, Redirect to Custom URL, Show success notification, or Switch State.
I’m going to redirect to a Custom URL. I have a Thank You page set up, so I’m going to select that and hit Save.
6. Ensure that the form is set to Display on Desktop and Mobile
Now that that's all done, make sure that you set it to display on both desktop and mobile. You can do this by going back to the Thrive Leads Dashboard, clicking on the Thrive Leads group, and switching the slider to On for both the Display on Desktop and Display on Mobile options.
You can now go ahead and check if the form appears on your site as desired. It’s as simple as that.
Even if you don't have a whole lot of posts and pages, it's a good idea to employ best practices early on and use something like Thrive Leads. It's a powerful tool that will save you tons and tons of time. Once you start really building content and only change the opt-ins as you go, it can be very time consuming. This way, you can change and update your forms and how they appear instantaneously. So, definitely give Thrive Architect and Thrive Leads a shot.
